Reviews and Ratings
We had a decent stay at the Blockade Runner, with some things to love and a few letdowns. The staff is incredibly accommodating, and the ocean views are stunning, but the breakfast experience left a lot to be desired, and the mattresses really need replacing. The hotel is perfectly situated for beach access, though the exterior gives off a bit of a vintage motel vibe.
My stay had its ups and downs. The beach view was lovely, and the rooms on the 7th floor were clean and comfortably designed. However, the dining experience fell short, especially with breakfast being below expectations. The price felt a bit high for what was offered, and there were some notable bathroom design flaws that were quite odd.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Blockade Runner. The location is fantastic, right on the beach, and the grounds are beautiful. The rooms are fairly comfortable, but some quirks and maintenance issues could use attention. The dining experience has its highs and lows, especially with breakfast not being included and having to order from a menu now. While the property is clean and cozy, improvements in service and amenities would make a significant difference.
